The Being whose path is the pursuit of completeness through self-affirmation alone in ordinary life, such as work or human relationships, is doomed to failure. He who seeks completeness in knowledge without being able to undertake the work of humility in life and in relationships with others is also doomed to failure due to the growth of pride and arrogance in believing himself humanly superior to others. Winner, however, is he who does not take refuge in human and social affirmation but only in pursuing the pure qualities of the Soul: sincere humility and honesty with oneself and others, enthusiasm in service, discernment and courage—qualities far removed from social and cultural consideration.
